Vice president of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, member of the Leading Party Group of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and director-general of the Institute of Contemporary China of CASS.
Born in June of 1946, Han Nationality, native of Nantong, Jiangsu Province. Started to take up a job in 1970; joined the Communist Party of China in 1973; graduate of the Department of CPC History, Renmin University of China with Bachelor’s degree; and research fellow.
Studied at the Department of CPC History of Renmin University of China in 1965-1970; worked in the production team of Baoding Agricultural Research Institute, Hebei Province from July to December in 1970; solider, news reporter of the publicity section in division headquarter and staff officer for theory of the publicity department in army headquarter in 1970-1975; cadre in Theory Studies Department of the Politics Research Office, the State Council in 1975-1977 (secretary of the CPC branch of the Politics Research Office in 1976); secretary of the President of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) in 1977-1980; cadre in the bulletin department of research office, Secretariat of the Central Committee of CPC in 1980-1981; secretary of the leader of Central Committee of CPC in 1981-1985; deputy director-general for production of Tianjin Port Office in 1985-1987; concurrently secretary of CPC Committee of the Graduate School, CASS and vice president of the Graduate School, CASS in 1987-1990; director-general of the General Department, member of the Leading Group and concurrently secretary-general, member of the Leading Group and concurrently director-general of the 4th Editorial and Research Department, Party Literature Research Center of the CPC Central Committee in 1990-1999; vice Minister of the Party History Research Center of the CPC Central Committee in 1999-2000 (concurrently director-general of the CPC’s History Press in 2000); vice president of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, member of the Leading Party Group of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and concurrently director-general of the Institute of Contemporary China in 2000; concurrently standing deputy director of China Guidance Group for Local Chronicles in 2001; and concurrently deputy director of National Leadership Group for the Qing’s History Amendment in 2002.
