Female, Han nationality, born in November 1943, native of Mianyang, Hubei Province. Started to take up a job in 1968; joined the Communist Party of China in 1963; graduate of Department of Chinese Language, Beijing University; master’s degree.
Studied at the Department of Chinese Language, Beijing University in 1962-1968; high school teacher of Xiaoyi County, Shanxi Province; teacher of Chinese Language of the High School attached to Beijing University in 1972-1978; enrolled in the Department of Linguistics of Graduate School, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences in 1978; awarded master’s degree of Literature in 1981; worked as assistant research fellow, associate research fellow, research fellow in the Institute of Linguistics, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences since 1981; deputy director, director of the Division of Modern Chinese, deputy director-general, director-general of the Institute of Linguistics in succession; and vice president of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, member of the Leading Party Group of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences starting from 1998.
