Deputy secretary of the Leading Party Group of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and vice president of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.

Born in August of 1953, Han Nationality, native of Pingdu, Shandong Province. Started to take up a job in 1969; joined the Communist Party of China in 1983; graduate of philosophy of Peking University with Bachelor’s degree; research fellow and ph. D supervisor.

Soldier in the 5th Division, Hei Longjiang Production and Construction Corps in 1969-1973; worker at the Beijing No. 2 Machine Tool Factory in 1973-1974; staff at the Publicity Section of the Political Division, Beijing No. 2 Machine Tool Factory in 1974-1979 (took advanced course in philosophy class of Beijing Machinery Bureau in 1975-1976); studied at the Department of Philosophy of Peking University in 1979-1983; editor, deputy director of the Division of Deng Xiaoping Studies, General Department, Party Literature Research Center (PLRC) of the CPC Central Committee in 1983-1988; deputy director of the Division of Writings, the Department of Deng Xiaoping Studies, PLRC of the CPC Central Committee in 1988-1992; deputy director-general of the Department of Deng Xiaoping Studies and concurrently director of the Division of Writings, PLRC of the CPC Central Committee in 1992-1994; member of the Leading Group and concurrently deputy director-general of the Department of Deng Xiaoping Studies, deputy director-general of the 3rd Editorial and Research Department, PLRC of the CPC Central Committee in 1994-1995; member of the Leading Group and concurrently director-general of the 3rd Editorial and Research Department, PLRC of the CPC Central Committee in 1995-1997; vice minister of the PLRC of the CPC Central Committee in 1997-2001 (concurrently deputy secretary of the CPC Jinan City Committee, Shan Dong Province in 2000-2001); executive vice minister of the PLRC of the CPC Central Committee in 2001-2004; and vice president of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and deputy secretary of the Leading Party Group of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences since November 2004 (ministerial level).
