Chinese State Councilor Tang Jiaxuan said on Tuesday that China is ready to deepen cooperation with Algeria to benefit the peoples of the two countries.
China and Algeria are brothers who share hardships and dangers, mutually reliable friends and cooperative partners, said Tang while meeting with Algerian Minister of State of Foreign Affairs Mohamed Bedjaoui.
The Chinese government values the development of strategic cooperation between the two countries, said Tang.
Tang also hailed the traditional friendship of China-Africa relations, saying the upcoming summit of the China-Africa Cooperation Forum, will add more energy to the relations between China and the African continent.
Bedjaoui spoke highly of China's assistance to Africa, saying China's social and economic development has provided an important example and opportunity for the development of Africa.
Bedjaoui, a guest of Chinese Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing, arrived in Beijing on Monday.
On Tuesday, Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao also met with Bedjaoui, exchanging views on bilateral relations and issues of mutual concern.
FM holds talks with Algerian counterpart

Chinese Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing held talks in Beijing on Tuesday with visiting Algerian Minister of State of Foreign Affairs Mohamed Bedjaoui.
Li said China and Algeria have deep traditional friendship and the two countries have for long supported each other and treated each other with sincerity.
Li said bilateral cooperation has continuously deepened and achieved outstanding results. "China hopes to further strengthen bilateral cooperation in fields of politics, economy and trade, science and technology and energy," Li said.
He said China also hopes to enhance consultation and coordination in major international and regional issues between the two sides and promote the over-all development of the strategic cooperation between China and Algeria.
Bedjaoui said Algeria treasures the friendly ties with China and the Algerian government hopes to conduct comprehensive and deep cooperation with China in various fields, adding that there is a great potential of bilateral cooperation.
The two sides also exchanges views on the international and regional issues of common concern.

Vice-Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) Wang Zhongyu met in Beijing Tuesday with Abdelkader Benmarouf, president of the Court of Audit of the Republic of Algeria.
Benmarouf's China visit is at the invitation of the China National Audit Office.
