During the 11th Five-year Program Period, Xinjiang will put 10 bln yuan in the construction of rural road, and the newly constructed rural road will reach 32,000 kilometers.

Till the year 2010, the departments concerned will try their best to realize the project of "road access to towns and villages", and more than 80% of towns to possess standardized coach stations, so as to bring along the construction of a new countryside in Xinjiang.

It is learned that, during the 10th five-year plan period, the rural construction project totally finished the investment of 5.1 bln yuan, and the newly reconstructed rural highway reached 17540 kilometers.

Besides, 99.3% of townships and 90.1% of administrative villages got access to highway, and over 3.5 mln people got benefit from the project.
