EU's Framework Program 7 (FP7) will be carried out in 2007-2013. The China-EU S&T Cooperation Promotion Office (CECO) hosted conferences to publicize FP7 respectively in Beijing, Dalian and Guangzhou from 29th June to 5th July 2006.

It was an effort to promote China-EU S&T cooperation to a higher level and wider scope. As a keynote speaker at the conference, Mr. Paul Jamet, officer in charge of European Affairs in the General Department of Research and Innovation under the French Ministry of Higher Education and Research, gave an introduction to FP7. He is also Coordinator of the EU Framework Program and EU Application Expert for Framework Program.

Mr. Chen Futao, Director-General of China Science and Technology Exchange Center and CECO and Mr. Georges Papageorgiou, Minister Counselor in charge of science and technology in the Delegation of the European Commission to China attended and addressed the conference in Beijing. Mr. Papageorgiou also attended and addressed the conference in Dalian. Officials from the Science and Technology Bureau of Dalian and Science and Technology Department of Guangdong Province respectively addressed the conference in Dalian and Guangdong.

In the meantime, CECO staff members and Mr. Jamet participated in the panel discussions held in Tsinghua University, Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics and Guangzhou Institute of Energy Conversion, Chinese Academy of Sciences. They also visited relevant key laboratories and took questions from the research personnel.
