A list of spokesmen for seven departments of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and their phone numbers was announced on Thursday.

"Substantial progress has been made in the establishment of the information release and spokesman systems at departments of the CPC Central Committee," said Cai Wu, director of the Information Office of the State Council, at a press conference.

He said the eight spokesmen of the seven departments were very active in receiving interviews and arranging press conferences to answer questions about the Party and other issues.

The seven departments are the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, the Organization Department, the United Front Work Department, the International Department, the Taiwan Work Office, the Party literature research office and the Party history research office.
