Lu Zhangong elected Party chief of central China's Henan Province Sunday, October 30, 2011

Lu Zhangong was elected secretary of central China's Henan Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) on Sunday.

Lu was elected to the post at the first plenary session of the 9th CPC Henan Provincial Committee held in Zhengzhou, the provincial capital of Henan.

Before appointed to the current position in November 2009, he had been the Communist Party chief in the southeastern coastal province of Fujian since 2004.

Lu, 59 and a native of Cixi of Zhejiang Province, is a member of the 17th CPC Central Committee.
