Nepal, China agree to further cooperation

Nepali high-ranking officials and visiting Chinese State Councilor Tang Jiaxuan on Thursday agreed to promote the two countries' traditional friendship and expand their cooperation in various fields.

Nepali Vice Chairmen of the Council of Ministers Tulsi Giri and Kirti Nidhi Bista met in Kathmandu with Tang, who arrived Kathmandu Thursday on a three-day official visit to Nepal.

Giri said Nepal and China enjoy traditional friendship, adding that after the establishment of diplomatic relations, the two countries have made great progress in strengthening understanding and cooperation.

Nepal firmly supports the one-China policy and will never allow any anti-China activities in Nepal's territory, Bista said

Tang said the China-Nepal friendship has been a model for countries with different social systems.

The two sides agreed to further cooperation in economy, trade, culture and education for the benefit of the two peoples.

Tang will meet with Nepali King Gyanendra on Friday.

Minister for Foreign Affairs Ramesh Nath Pandey will also pay a courtesy call on Tang on Friday.

China to boost ties with Nepal, says state councilor

China and Nepal will further deepen traditional friendship and promote common development in the future, visiting Chinese State Councilor Tang Jiaxuan said in Kathmandu Friday.

Tang, who arrived in Kathmandu on Thursday for a three-day official visit, made the remarks at a joint reception hosted by the China Study Center of Nepal and the Chinese Embassy in Nepal.

China hopes Nepal settle current problems through dialogues

China hopes all constitutional forces in Nepal seek to settle the current problems through dialogues, Chinese State Councilor Tang Jiaxuan said in Kathmandu Friday.

"The Chinese Government and people sincerely wish to see peace and prosperity in Nepal," Tang said at a joint reception given by the China Study Center of Nepal and the Chinese Embassy in Nepal.

China values friendly relations with South Asian countries: official

China values friendly relations and cooperation with all countries in South Asia region, Chinese State Councilor Tang Jiaxuan said in Kathmandu Friday.

"We value our friendly relations and cooperation with all countries in the region and are working to advance cooperation and promote common prosperity with them on the basis of the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence," Tang said at the joint reception given by the China Study Center of Nepal and the Chinese Embassy in Nepal.

Nepal appreciates China's stand on ties: expert

Nepal highly appreciates China for taking a principled stand on bilateral relations and consistently treating Nepal on an equal footing and respectfully, a Nepali expert said Friday.

"We also appreciate China's wish to see Nepal realize peace, stability, development and national reconciliation," Madan Regmi, chairman of China Study Center (CSC) of Nepal, said at a joint reception given in honor of visiting Chinese State Councilor Tang Jiaxuan by the CSC and the Chinese Embassy in Nepal.
