The Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) is ready to carry out exchanges with the Malaysian Parliament at all levels and in all forms, CPPCC Chairman Jia Qinglin said in Kuala Lumpur Thursday.
During his meeting with Malaysian House of Representatives Speaker Ramli Ngah Talib on Thursday morning, Jia said CPPCC plays an important role in China's political life, and it also works for enhancing mutual understanding between the Chinese people and people of the world and promoting world peace and development.
Jia, who arrived in Kuala Lumpur Tuesday evening for a six-day official goodwill visit, expressed the wish that CPPCC and the Malaysian Parliament would learn from each other and make new contributions to the friendly, cooperative and good-neighbor relations between China and Malaysia.
Ramli said China has a long history of civilization and is a big country in the world. China's reform and opening to the outside world have made big achievements. The Malaysian Parliament places importance on the important role of CPPCC and is ready to strengthen friendly exchanges and cooperation with CPPCC.
Jia expressed appreciation to the Malaysian government and Parliament for their long-term and constant adherence to the one-China policy. He thanked Malaysia for understanding and supporting China on the issue of Taiwan.
Ramli said Malaysia will firmly adhere to the one-China policy.
