Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao met earlier with his Slovenian counterpart Janez Jansa. The visit comes during the 15th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two countries. Both sides have vowed to boost bilateral relations.
The relationship between China and the European Union tops the agenda of the meeting between Wen Jiaobao and his Slovenian counterpart.
Slovenia is set to be the rotating president country of the European Union next year. Wen Jiabao hopes China-EU cooperation can soon be raised to a new level.
China and Slovenia aim to further bilateral relations through exchanges of governments, political parties and legislatures. They also agreed to keep expanding cooperation in culture, health and tourism.
This is Jansa's first visit to China since he assumed the office of Prime Minister in 2004.
During the four-day visit, Jansa will also meet with Chinese President Hu Jintao and top legislator Wu Bangguo. He will also pay a visit to Shanghai, China's economic powerhouse.
China is Slovenia's most important trading partner in Asia with yearly trade volume in goods and services exceeding 300 million euros.
