Jia Qinglin wraps up visit to Romania

China's top political advisor Jia Qinglin concluded his visit to Romania on Wednesday and left for Hungary to continue his current four-nation Europe tour.

During his visit, Jia, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), met with Romanian President Traian Basescu, Senate President Nicolae Vacaroiu and Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies Bogdan Olteanu.

He also delivered a speech at a senate session, expounding on China's policy of upholding peaceful development and mutual benefit, and expressing China's willingness to further consolidate the Chinese-Romanian friendship and promote the comprehensive and deep-going development of bilateral ties.

Jia arrived in Bucharest on Sunday for an official goodwill visit to Romania. After Hungary, Jia will also visit Slovenia and Croatia.
